Penn State, founded in 1855, has 24 campuses across the Commonwealth. It is Pennsylvania’s only land-grant institution, its largest University, and one of the most prominent public research universities in the United States.
The Fulbright Scholars Program is sponsored by the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. State Department and provides funding for scholars, teachers, and professionals to undertake advanced research and teaching around the world.
Global Programs works with many departments at University Park and across the Commonwealth to offer a variety of on-campus, globally-focused services and intercultural learning opportunities. The goal is to enhance student’s transition and success at any of the Penn State campuses.
Global Programs celebrates and honors global engagement of students, faculty, and staff through a variety of annual events, conferences, and awards.

Mark Brennan, professor of leadership and community development, currently serves as the UNESCO Chair in Global Citizenship Education for Peace through Youth and Community Engagement at Penn State. Recently, the chair has moved from its seat in the College of Agricultural Sciences to now sit within Penn State Global.
